Sailing around the Daydream Island Resort and Spa region on the Great Barrier Reef is available from many tour operators in Airlie beach and Shute harbour. There are a number of bare boat operators here as well as sailing day trips and extended trips that can take you out in the vicinity of Daydream Island and the other islands that make up the Whitsundays region. Daydream Island is located just off the Queensland coastline, near Airlie Beach. It is accessible by air, coach, car or train. You can fly from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns and choose to land at either the mainland terminal at Proserpine which is about an hour's drive from Airlie Beach, or fly to Hamilton Island as it has its own airport and from here you can catch a connecting fast cat to Daydream Island. Fantasea Cruises run daily trips from Shute Harbour at Airlie Beach and any of the neighbouring islands. All coach services will travel directly into Airlie Beach and drop you at your preferred place of accommodation before making your way over to the island.
